Akirism

Akirists worship the Elemental Tribune, as such philosophy is the same no matter which race practices it. Practitioners pray to the elements in hope of protection, prosperity, and when necessary- borrowed power. There are four elements: Air, Fire, Water, and Nature. At their simplest, the elements may cause an earthquake, summon a storm, conjure fire, or finding water. As their most complex, the elements are the very world we live in. Spiritual leaders who guide their race along the proper philosophical path tend to be referred to as druids.

Ortasism

Ortasists worship the various Wild Spirits, with philosophies changing depending on the spirits practitioners worship. Countless Wild Spirits exist, most weak, but some very powerful. Most take on animal or creature forms. Powerful, enlightened Ortasists can become Wild Spirits upon their death and subsequent reincarnation - or so it is believed. Wild Spirits can grant wonderous boons or inflict terrible punishments to residents of their territories. Families often worship their own family spirits, cities usually have their own civic deities, and the greatest spirits are worshiped by the nation as a whole. Wild Spirits gain in strength and power the more worshipers, offerings, idols and sacrifices they receive. Carrying the symbol of a spirit can help strengthen them.

Poietism

Poietists worship the First Ones, a race of colossal, planet-sized cosmic beings, composed of Vaalum a primordial matter of which is believed to be their blood. They roamed across the cosmos like walking worlds, imbued with the raw power of creation itself. The First Ones used this incredible force to forge worlds in their image. Hailing from the far reaches of the cosmos, they shaped and brought life and order to countless worlds across the Great Dark Beyond. Poiests believe the First Ones will one day return to Vaal. Until then, worshipers connect with the resources of Vaalum spread across the world. Poietists have a particular distain for Sotriasts and Ortasists, believing their deities responsible for the disappearance of the First One Calos. However, Poietists do worship the Dragon Avatars and Elemental Tribune, albeit to a lesser degree.

Sotreism

Sotriaists are very dedicated to the worship of the Six Human Gods: Ghorr of Fear, Vyara of Sorrow, Ahtune of Joy, Treyu of Anger, Korra of Love, and Ohcres of Peace. Each god is a patron of several broad areas of concern and one of six primary emotions. Since the Great Elemental War the Six Gods have vanished from public eye. While some claim to still hear their prayers answered, most agree they seem more distant than before. This belief has led some Soriaists to believe the gods are displeased with the current state of Vaal. Temples are still made devoted to their worship, and the streets of Krellen are named and decorated for each of the gods. Some even choose to devote their lives to the worship of a particular god - a Priestess of Ahtune might find herself working in a hospital or a Priest of Treyu arranging competitions for his god.

Vatarism

Vatarists worship the four Dragon Avatars: Aedigarr, Thraxaal, Vaernyrr, and Hakkan. Similar to Poiets, Vatarists believe the Dragon Avatars shaped the world of Vaal and imbued it with the four primary elements. In addition to the avatars, Vatarists often praise and sometimes worship other existing dragons. Every one hundred years the Dragon Avatars emerge from their slumber and scour Vaal for vaalum. This event dubbed the "Awakening" is treated as a momentous occasion and is celebrated by Vatar practitioners.  During the Awakening, dedicated worshipers see a massive increase in their vaalum manipulation capabilities.

Yechinism

Yechinists are dedicated to the quest of knowledge, preferring the progressions of science over the legends of old. While some may claim the religion worships the newly constructed machine god "Machina", this is not entirely accurate. Yechinists look to Machina as the future of Vaal and the most intelligent being in existence. The "religions" ultimate goal is to understand and fully comprehend all the knowledge of the universe. With this in mind, it is believed that Machina is the most direct path to accomplishing this goal.
